VINTAGE LARGE MECHANICAL VALENTINE BY LOUIS KATZ
CONDITION: See beginning of listing for detailed condition info. Basic info repeated here is that card shows some wear, is signed on back, but does not come from a scrapbook.
VIEWING NOTE: If you are using a mobile device, please expand all dropdowns to see more information. You may not be able to access all of my photos, so I recommend, if possible, that you look at items using the classic view, not the mobile view in your phone's app, or that you view listings on a computer. I do my listings on a laptop, so typically offer several photos and a complete description that are worth taking the time to view.
DESCRIPTION: 6-3/4" tall, Made in USA, Louis Katz, NY, 1920 "C" in circle logo to bottom right of front. Easel to back, along with applied (riveted) to card wheel that reads, "I Want You. You Are The Only Valentine." Boy wears a high-necked blue sweater, gray slacks and holds a black megaphone. He wears a cap and carries a sign that reads, "I'm saying a Mouthful--Baby!" Spin the wheel slowly and the words above appear inside his open mouth. Big blue-eyed, rosey-cheeked male pep squad member or cheerleader.
PHOTOS: Please be sure to look closely at my photos as they are an integral part of the description. My photos are often taken in bright natural light or sometimes with a flash, both of which tend to bleach out colors. Normally colors are darker than photos show and light areas are glare from too bright light or flash.
MY STORE: DEVITO'S BOOKS-TV CLOSEOUT JEWELRY (not much jewelry left). I stock all sorts of antique and vintage items (and some new ones)found here and there around New England since 1984. I never know what I'll be unearthing and listing next, so please bookmark my store, make me a favorite seller and receive automatic updates when new items are added. I post new listings every week.
SHIPPING: Depending on sales volume, I ship once or twice a week, Wednesday and Friday or Saturday. Between Thanksgiving and Christmas, I ship more often. Please disregard the 10-business-day shipping estimate. made me choose one. Normally I ship between 2-to-4 days after payment posts. If it is going to be longer than that, I shall e-mail you.
POSTAGE & HANDLING: P&H includes exact postage (within 1-to-2oz), plus a nominal handling fee to help with the expenses of doing business with /PayPal.
FIRST CLASS LETTER RATE-FIRST CLASS PACKAGE RATE: If card(s) weigh(s) 3 oz or less, shipping will usually be by First Class Letter rate (unless cards are large, have rigid or fragile add-ons, such as old mica/glitter, or by request). First Class Package rate weight tops out at 13 ounces. Letter rate includes flexible, lightweight cardstock to protect the card and a USPS surcharge when "Do Not Bend" is written on the envelope. Package rate includes sturdy, rigid cardboard and that automatically turns a Letter rate card into a Package rate card, no matter the weight (up to 13 oz). Package rate for 1-3 oz is approximately 2-to-3 times Letter rate.
DELIVERY CONFIRMATION: Additionally, USPS does not allow Delivery Confirmation on the less expensive Letter rate, but does for the Package rate which is automatically included in the shipping quote in each listing. If you want DC, please let me know and I shall revise your invoice to the Package rate.
COMBO SHIPPING: I will be happy to combo ship, but must charge a modest handling fee for each item added to the package. doesn't offer a fee discount on combo purchases so I must pass some of that expense on to the buyer. If you are purchasing more than one item from me, please wait for a revised invoice, as the automatic one that sends shows full shipping for each item, and not the discount combo pricing that I offer.
Timely payment is expected. If there will be a delay, please email to let me know.
Returns are expensive and it is disappointing for the buyer to pay shipping both ways and end up with nothing, so please ask if you are unsure about anything in my listing. I want you to be happy with your purchase. There are hundreds of thousands of sellers out there and I am pleased that you have chosen to shop with me. Welcome to my store and sales. There is nothing I like better than repeat customers.
