American Character Doll. The woman I bought it from said that it was hers or her sisters from their childhood, she was born in 1935. I believe she is a Mamma Crier but the crier does not work. The doll is in pretty good condition for her age, with minor flaws, normal wear and cracking/crazing.This baby has a beautiful head with no cracking. On the back of her neck, the marking is stamped AM. CHAR. DOLL Paint is missing from the hair in a few spots, and her lips. She has molded, painted hair and her head does turn. She has sleepy eyes that work perfectly, with beautiful blue eyes and long lashes. Her mouth is open with two perfect teeth.She is 18\" tall, her head, 3/4 arms and 3/4 legs are made of composition. Both hands have slight crazing and wear on the fingers. Both legs have crazing and one crack on the left inner thigh.Other than normal aging spots, her cloth body is in remarkable shape. There is one larger spot on her left arm.She is dressed in original vintage clothing, probably the ones she came with. There is a dress, bonnet and underpants. The dress has normal aging but is in very good condition with a noticeable aging spot on the right top. The craftsmanship of the sewing is extraordinary! Beautiful lace details and decorative stitching. Two original buttons on the back. There are tiny holes throughout the sheer cloth that are hardly noticeable. The bonnet is also in great shape with one small hole in the back. The pants have some stitching separating and are missing a button. For the age of the clothing I would say that the three pieces are in good condition.The doll will be shipped in a double box and will be insured.Email if you have any questions.We do our best to properly describe and accurately photograph every item we sell.
