Vintage 1930's Art Deco Bezel Openback Crystal Sterling Silver 44" Necklace For Sale
Vintage 1930's Art Deco Bezel Openback Crystal Sterling Silver 44" Necklace
This sale is for a sparkling and classical, sterling silver bezel openback crystal necklace, that is from the 1930's.This piece is marked "sterling" on the older spring ring clasp (that works securely), but I'm not sure if its original to the piece, however the setting tests positive for sterling as well. The necklace measures 44" long with each crystal at a full 9mm in diameter and 1/4" thick at their thickest point. Each crystal sits in an open bezel setting and is faceted on both sides, a dome at the front and a point at the back, for the maximum amount of light and sparkle. The necklace has a lot of length so it can be wrapped multiple times around your neck for a sparkling layered look. There are some small chips and nicks to the crystals, some are larger than others, but there aren't any chips that are noticeable except on inspection or compromise the shape of the crystal. The faceting is crisp and fresh looking so the crystals are very sparkling and refractive. The bezel setting is sturdy and solid, there are no signs of solder or repair, but there is one connecting loop that doesn't look original to the piece as it is slightly larger than the rest of the connecting loops. The silver has a bright patina that is a pretty compliment to the crystals. Overall this is a sparkling and classical, sterling silver bezel openback crystal necklace, that is from the 1930's and is in very good condition.
