Vintage 1930's Art Deco Czech Bezel Openback Crystal Huge 17mm Glass Necklace For Sale
Vintage 1930's Art Deco Czech Bezel Openback Crystal HUGE 17mm Glass Necklace
This sale is for a sparkling and bold, openback bezel crystal necklace, that was made in Czechoslovakia during the 1930's.This piece is brass and is marked "Czechoslov" on the jump ring of the original spring ring clasp that works securely. The necklace measures 15" in length with crystals that graduate in size from 17mm in diameter in front down to 11mm in back. This necklace is unique for the design and size of the crystals that frame the neck with lots of sparkle. The crystals are bezel set and openback at the back with faceting on both sides, a dome at the front and a point at the back, for the maximum amount of light and refraction. The crystals are thick with lots of faceting, the crystal at the front is 1/2" thick, so the piece is highly refractive. There are some chips to the back of the crystals at the tips, the biggest chip is the second crystal to the center (which you can see in one of the photos) which is noticeable from the front of the crystal on inspection. There are a few small chips and nicks to the front of the crystals, they are all under .5mm in diameter, and are noticeable mainly upon close inspection. The crystals are fresh looking with smooth surfaces and crisp faceting that is very refractive. There is one crystal, that is half way up the chain, that looks like it was glued back into the bezel at one point. Looking closely you can see some glue residue along the outer edges of the crystal (which you can see in one of the photos) but it is not noticeable as the piece is worn and the crystal is very secure in the bezel. The brass setting is golden, there is a little bit of darkening, but it is a modest amount and is a pretty compliment to the crystals. Overall this is a sparkling and bold, openback bezel crystal necklace, that was made in Czechoslovakia during the 1930's that is in good condition. There are many more beautiful pieces up for sale this month so please view my other items for the full selection.Shipping All jewelry is carefully wrapped and shipped in boxes to ensure that your vintage piece arrives safely.
