Vintage 1930's Art Nouveau Deco Lapis Glass Flapper 33" Necklace
This sale is for a striking and finely made, Art Deco Lapis glass necklace, that is from the 1930's.This piece is goldtone with a substantial weight and feel to the necklace. The piece measures 33" long with the pendant dropping another 5 1/2" below that and is 1.5" wide at its widest point. The necklace closes securely with an old spring ring clasp but I'm not positive its original to the piece. This piece is unique for its substantial size and the detail that is in the setting with pretty stamped designs and pendants in different sizes and shapes that gives the necklace a lot of texture and visual interest. The setting is accented with large glass cabochons that are made to simulate Lapis with a deep blue color and subtle swirls of darker blues. The plump olive shaped beads along the chain are 3/4" x 1/2". There are no chips to the glass and the surfaces are very smooth and gleaming without any surface wear. The strand at the very bottom dangles freely which gives the necklace a nice amount of movement and sway when worn. There are no irregularities to the setting, just a slight amount of darkening, and the piece has a nice patina. Overall this is a striking and finely made, Art Deco Lapis glass necklace, that is from the 1930's and is in Excellent condition.
