Vintage 1930's French Faux Amber Lucite Powder Compact With Base Mirror For Sale
Superb and just a little bit different, this gorgeous vintage powder compact is set to a hard polished lucite base in the form of faux amber/tortoise shell. Measuring c2.3/4" inch, to the top is a typical French design of a courting couple. The lid opens on a brass hinge to reveal a high polish interior base and a mirror, the base is marked patent pending. Unusually there is a 2nd mirror to the base of the compact. All clasps and hinges are in good order, the mirrors show some minor clouding commensurate with age, but nothing to worry about. Its a lovely little piece that I know will not disappoint. The edge of the lucite behind the hinge shows a join, I don't think this is damage, but is where the compact has been finished off.
