Vintage 1930s Wpa Work Program Metal Sign 30x30" Depression New Deal History For Sale
Here's a TRULY RARE historical artifact. In my years of collecting signs I have seen one other version of this sign -- it was in wood. This one is steel plate, a 30x30" sign weighing over 11 pounds. As you can see, the paint is faded, understandable considering the age of the sign and the work it performed in its prime. This was a red, white, and blue sign, though only hints exist of the blue in the upper band with **USA**.There are a few bullet holes, too. "WPA" stands for Works Progress Administration. This was the largest component of the "New Deal" program initiated by President Franklin Roosevelt during the Great Depression to put Americans back to work building parks, bridges, and other infrastructure during the 1930s. DO NOT MISS YOUR CHANCE TO OBTAIN THIS HISTORICALLY SIGNIFICANT SIGN -- YOU WILL LIKELY NEVER SEE ANOTHER ONE COME UP FOR SALE. Most of these signs were scrapped and melted down to build military equipment and wares for World War II -- how this one survived is anyone's guess. This sign is guaranteed original and authentic. I do not deal in reproductions. It has not been touched up or repaired in any way. Check my outstanding response and buy with confidence. I take great pride in my packing and shipping. This sign will be carefully packed and promptly shipped. Quoted shipping is to contiguous 48 states. I am selling this with . Please do not ask for a "buy it now" price -- I do not end sales early. Thank you and happy offerding!
