Vintage 1940’s Stainless Steel Purse Frame Dual Clasps Rare:
This very vintage purse frame came from my father’s leather shop in the 1940’s where he would make purses and pouches, as well as many other leather items. I believe it came from England from where he imported many items. It is made of stainless steel, and the frame is grooved to receive the purse material or leather. This one has a dual clasp that swivels, so that it could be used for a purse design with a main compartment and a smaller compartment inside, also with a clasp, OR it could be a main compartment with a smaller compartment outside. The larger frame is 6 3/8” long with a 2” drop. The smaller frame is 4 7/8” long with a 1” drop. The large frame closes tightly with a snap closure. The small frame closes with a snap ball closure (kiss lock) and can pivot off center. This frame is over seventy years old and has no dents, scratches, or rust. The clasps work perfectly, and the hinges are neither too stiff nor too loose.
