Bendix-Friez Aviation Corp. Model 160 Hygrothermograph.

Excellent condition. In original case with Instructions dated November 1949. It even has the original key attached to it.

The case shows some age. The strap has broken but all pieces are there. I dusted it off but did not attempt to clean it. The Hygrothermometer itself is in excellent condition. I’m not sure if it was ever used.

This belonged to my Grandfather. Both him and my Great-Grandfather were pilots. I’m guessing it is used in the aircraft while flying the airplane.

Please see photo of the instruction booklet. It describes what the device measures and how it works. It appears you wind it up like a clock for power. It’s described as a portable compact device for measuring and continually recording humidity and temperature. Pretty cool for 1949.
