Vintage 1960 Buddy L Texaco Service Station, Unused In Original Box For SaleEarly 1960’s Buddy L Toys Texaco Gas Station in the original box. I acquired this toy some years ago at an estate sale. It was in a sealed box before the sale, but the saleeer opened it to see what was inside and then inked Buddy L Texaco Station on the outside of the box lid.
The brown cardboard box measures 26 x 18 x 3” and has green printing on 2 sides stating: “Buddy L One-5301-Reg. SPD-325” followed by a Texaco emblem. The original cardboard divider piece that protects the toy car and the paper bags are present.
This Texaco station has never been assembled. I did not attempt to assemble the station myself for the photos, fearing I might inadvertently damage something. The 18 x 24” gray metal base and the metal roof are both present with no scratches and a nice shiny appearance. Accessories can be found in the 2 bags. The smaller bag (torn) holds a number of small accessories (Image 4), but the 6 red plastic stars have come loose from the sprue, and 1 of the white pump panels has a tiny tab that has come off. The larger bag (Image 5) holds some of the larger plastic pieces. Loose paper accessories (Image 6) include the original direction sheet (some tears, yellowing on plain backside), oil can labels (some folding to strips), small cardboard sign sheet (1 side is torn off from contact with shifting metal base in the box), Buddy L toys booklet, 2 extra pieces order forms. There is also a plastic window insert.
This set comes with an 8.5” long red plastic sedan with metal chassis. The direction sheet pictures a truck in the set, so this was probably a factory substitution. The rear license plate is marked 1960. The bottom of the chassis has some surface discoloration, but the car is undamaged.
This great vintage set is being offered with and No Buy It Now. Shipment can be via either USPS Parcel Select or Priority Mail. Please e-mail me with any questions. NYS residents must include 8% sales tax. I accept all forms of payment.
