D-28 features a beautifully aged, amber Stika Spruce top and Rosewood back and
sides. It has the booming voice of a vintage dreadnaught that can only be found
with a 50-year-old guitar like this one.
has been played some, but is in surprisingly good shape given its age. As with
most vintage instruments it has some dings, pickwear, belt buckle wear and
scratches. It also had a bridge re-glue
where the bridge started lifting off the top.
I tried to feature the worst dings and the bridge in the pictures, but
it is difficult to get all the surface things to show up. offer knowing this is
truly a vintage guitar. Structurally the guitar is sound. It plays great and
has the monster tone of a vintage dreadnaught. This is a cannon.
Interesting features of this '63 guitar...
Ivory-grained celluloid bindings (plain white was used after 1966)
Rounded headstock corners where the template wore down in the old factory where this guitar was made.
