Vintage 1965 Blenko - Wayne Husted Genie Jonquil Crackle Glass Decanter - 12.2\" - MINT
Authentic and relatively rare vintage Genie decanter by designer Wayne Husted of Blenko, made in 1965. Amber-apricot color, called Jonquil by Blenko; their item number for this decanter is 6212L. Large, classic mid-twentieth century, crackle-glass design. Popular in the 1950s and 1960s, crackle glass is made by submerging the formed hot glass in cooler water - which creates crackles - and then re-firing to meld the crackles together, which forms a smooth surface.The pontil at the base of the decanter is clearly visible. Please note that the stopper is missing.Measures 12 1/4\" tall to top edge of neck x 7 1/2\" in diameter at shoulder x 1 1/2\" in diameter at neck (neck opening is 1 1/8\" in diameter, thickness of glass varies - at neck it is 1/4\"). Lot weight is 3 lb. 7 oz., estimated package weight is 6-7 lbs. Will be thoroughly padded and carefully packed for secure, intact delivery.
