A good, solid 1968 vintage Circle Y 15\" saddle. No structural defects at all. Marked on back with the ID number 1062 868, authenticated by Circle Y to be 1968. Under the back of the cantle it has a circle with cow and cowboy riding a horse, around that circle it says \"Cow country, Yoakum Tex, By Circle Y.\" Rawhide wrapped horn. Comes with back cinch. It has a 7\" gullet, the conchos seem to be silver. I am the second owner of this saddle since I bought it in 1972, always oiled and stored inside. Still all original with a strong tree and very rideable condition. Fleece is good. Beautiful handcarved roses and scroll tooling. Comfortable seat. Only real flaw is dark spot (stain?) on right pommel, shown in photo. This saddle is surprisingly lightweight. I had a local saddlemaker check it out and he said it was in great condition and looks to be all original and the fleece was in excellent shape. He said the tooling was beautiful and very detailed. All in all he was very impressed with the saddle.A well made vintage Circle Y that will serve you well. Given it\'s age and condition, it may be quite collectable. Circle Y saddles from 30 or 50 years ago are great vintage saddles to shop for as they were extremely well made with quality leather and hardware materials. The leather on this saddle just feels like thick quality leather. The hardware on the rigging is brass not the typical stainless you see on newer saddles. It is a true classic from the 1960s that I hope someone will treasure and enjoy for many more years to come. You do not find a 1960s Model Circle Y in as good of a condition as this one very often.....let me know if you would like any more photos or information.
