Vintage 8" Betsy Mccall Doll Circa 1957-58 In Cotillion B-62 Dress Has Mesh Wig:
This is a first series (has mesh wig, but also has metal knee pins) Betsy McCall doll Circa 1957-58 in excellent condition with no split knees or crotch. She has been completely restrung so holds poses well. She will sit, bend her knees, and stand on her own if carefully propped against a sturdy backdrop. But I recommend using the doll stand she will come with.
Her dark brown hair has been cleaned and styled. It is in beautiful condition. Her bangs are full and lay nicely but want to curl somewhat. There are no bald spots and her hair flips nicely!
This doll also has the second year metal pin-based jointed knees. Doll’s hard plastic is a nice even bisque color. Her face paint is nice, her lip color is more coral than pink or red! Her blue sleep eyes work well.
The outfit she is wearing is the ‘B-62 Cotillion dress. You can see the photo from the book ‘Betsy McCall A Collector’s Guide’ by Ausdall on page 63. (See photo). The dress is complete with dress, petticoat and panties. Panties need some repair as waistline is pulling away from elastic. She wears her white side button shoes that are in good condition. I’ve given her an aftermarket white hat.
She is just adorable! The chair and ceramic clock seen in photos are not part of the sale.
This Betsy would be a lovely gift for someone or yourself!
