VINTAGE AMERE COMPACT WITH CLOCK (SWITZERLAND)

We areoffering an authentic vintage Amere gold tone compact originally made in Switzerland.This compact belonged to a family member, so we can attest to the fabuloushistory it has with a true fashionista of her day.

This Amerecompact is a bit unusual in that it originally had emerald green facetedrhinestones embedded into the angled seams on the front of the compact. Sevenof the stones are missing, however we have (and are including) four of these loose stones. Thestone in each pointed corner is there, however they have sunk into the floor ofthe compact. On additional stone has sunk in as well. It is absolutely cleaninside and features a beautifully beveled mirror. The mirror is free from anychips or scratches and all hinges and catches work flawlessly.

Theexterior has a clock on hinge that comes up to almost 90 degrees. The clockworks, though I cannot say as to whether or not it keeps perfect time. I do notwant to risk changing the time and breaking the working clock. The clock has a blackface with gold tone hands.

When closed, the compact measures 3” x 3” squareand about ½” thick with clock closed/flush with cover. The gold tonefinishhas minor surface scratches and has some tarnish spots due to its age. A goodpolish and it is good to go! See photos.

Note: This compact has beenstored without powder. If left with powder for any long period of time, vintagecompacts may start to develop a green patina. This can be very unsightly andrather difficult to remove.

Thegold tone case is free of any pitting and dents but does have a few light scratchesprimarily on the back and on the glass covering the clock.
