Lovely gilt brass or bronze velvet lined trinket box. Gilt needs to be cleaned, It is dirty and darkened. The portrait is hand painted and signed by the artist but I can\'t make out the signature. She has a scratch through her face. Top of box measures 2 3/8\" x 2 3/4\". The painting is 2\" x 2 3/8\". It is 7/8\" deep. The back of the box is stamped \"FRANCE\".
