For your consideration is this wonderful huge antique gold gilt Italian wall sconce. This is a very impressive sconce, is made of steel with wooden bobeches. This is an early sconce and does show signs of age and wear, but has wonderful aged character. The metal work is very nice quality is beautifully designed as a sword, with scrolling metal work and wheat stalks. There is some age, it has a nice warm rich gold color. There are parts where the gold gilt is missing as well as the black paint. See in photos, that the most wear is on the wooden bobeches. The sconce has been rewired with new UL Listed sockets. This sconce takes five candelabra base light bulbs, up to 40 watts. They have new antique candle drip socket covers. Measurements: 41 1/2\" tall

This sconces hang easily with a hanger ring on top of the sword handle. Please note this sconce, as is common with Italian sconces, does not have a traditional back plate for your wall box. We recommend going to your local home improvement store to purchase a cover for your box, you can paint it to match your wall color. It will be primarily hidden by the large bow on the sconce. The wires will go through the cover to wire to your electrical box. This sconce has wonderful scrolling detail and hand-worked metal. Notice the fabulous character in the design on the metal worked center and bobeches.
