Vintage Art Deco Neiger Bros Galalith Dress Clip Oriental Pagoda Czech 1920s For Sale
Vintage Art Deco coral-coloured Galalith Czech dress clip with an Oriental pagoda and bird design produced by the Neiger Bros c1920s. The clip is in over-all good vintage condition but there is some loss of the enamel paint in the cloud design and on the pagoda. The round cabochons on the branch ends are glass and are of a slightly darker/brighter coral shade to the colour of the galalith. One of the glass cabs has a tiny slice off at the top side which is noticeable in the photo but only under magnification in reality. I think that this occured occasionally in the manufacturing process as I have previously owned some Neiger brooches with the same type of flaw. The slice goes under the setting and was probably caused by the tool used to press in the edges. The clip mechanism works well and has just the tiniest bit of looseness when closed but this very small amount of slack would be taken up when fabric is placed between. (I believe that there is a way of tightening the spring inside but I'm not sure that this needs to be done). I have not cleaned any part of the clip leaving that choice to the buyer. The dress clip is approx 2 & 1/8th inches long (52mm) x just over 3/4 inch wide at the top (20mm). Please message me if you have any questions. I have seen several green galalith Neiger pieces but don't recall seeing one with the coral-coloured background so this may be a rare colour-way. I am happy to combine postage for multiple purchases if that works to your advantage but would appreciate payment of the total amount due within 7 days of your first winning offer. Thank you for looking.
