Vintage Art Nouveau Sterling Silver Hand Mirror Beveled Long Oval Saart Brothers For Sale
Antique Art Nouveau, sterling silver, beveledhand mirror, made by Saart Brothers, Attleboro, Massachusetts~1906~Present. This company made a full line of sterling & plated ware. Hallmarked "SLB" (shield symbol) "STERLING", shown in photo 3. Long oval shape, measuring slightly over 13". Mirror itself measures 5 1/2" X 3 1/2". Weight 7.8ozs. Filigree flower bud pattern around edge of mirror, center has a plain oval (no monogram) with filigree & a couple of flower buds around it. Pretty pin stripes, two rows having dots running the length of the stripe. Handle is a fluted round (not flat) and has filigree near the top and bottom point. On the mirrored side, the handle has a ding, approximately 2" from the end tip, shown in photo 8. On the other side there is a VERY SHALLOW ding, shown in last photo (not bad). Near the center oval design, there is a insignificant ding (difficult to show in photos).The mirror has beige spotting throughout and 5 hairline scratches (approximately 1"L each), shown in next to last photo.
