This piece of art was obtained in Nome, Alaska over 25 yearsago. The carving in bone was completedon the shoulder bone of a Beluga Whale.The native artist has signed the piece with the name “ANINGAYOU”. This piece is very unusual and rare and forthe discerning decorator and/or art collector.

The carving stands up on its own, is over 21” in height andabout 23” wide. I assume the fish carvedin the bone are spawning salmon based on the hooked noses. Some cracking of finish on the back of thebone (see pics), no issues on the front.
