Vintage Bijutsu Toki Japan Satsuma Vase Porcelain / Ceramic Gold 22k Trim For Sale
Hi, for sale a Japanese Bijutsu Toki Satsuma (porcelain) Mid Century Modern crackle glazed Vase / Planter. This is a pretty planter with gold trees with cherry blossoms, flowers, and a peacock with beautiful red feathers. There are two crazing lines (other than the crackle glaze) that go up to the lip of the planter (see pics.) I believe it is normal for vintage pottery. I believe it has 22 Kt Gold trim. Other than the above mentioned it is in good condition with no chips. Here is some information on Satusuma;Satsuma ware is something between porcelain and pottery because it
fired at a lower temperature than porcelain. The features of Satsuma
pottery are ivory-colored, crackled glaze that is highly decorated with
polychrome colors and gold. Late in the 18th century, this pottery
becamevery popular. This pottery was made to keep up with Western
demands for the unique pottery. Please email with any questions I will be glad to help.
