This is a Conway Stewart 84 fountain pen in gold veined green pearlescent marble with gold filled trim dating from around 1955
The pen comes with the original Conway Stewart card box and guarantee paper as shown in the pictures
This pen fills from an ink bottle using the lever on the side of the barrel. It does NOT take cartridges. We have serviced the pen and fitted a new ink sac, so it is all working
The nib is a medium grade No4 in 14k gold with the imprint 'CONWAY STEWART 14ct GOLD 4'
The barrel has the crisp imprint 'Conway Stewart 84 Made in England'
The pen measures 4.7 inches (11.8cms) capped
ConditionOverall the pen has been lightly used but is in excellent condition. The photos give a very good impression of how crisp this pen is!
There are no dings, dents, chips, plating wear or personal engravings. We have checked it through our workshop; ultrasonically cleaned all the parts; fitted a new ink sac and tested the nib which is a smooth with good ink flow
The card 'Conway Stewart' box is in very good condition with no splits
Unless we have stated so above, the item does not come with its original box or documents. If this lot contains items other than the actual pen/pencil, then we will describe these and photograph them

Since 1990, we have specialised in buying, selling and repairing fountain pens, both modern and vintage. After being based in Battersea for ten years (hence our name!), we moved to Epping in 2000. We also organised the London Pen Show from 1995 to 2005 which is now run by the Writing Equipment Society and known as the London Writing Equipment Show.
