Vintage California Pottery Edith Heath Tea Pot, Ceramics, Modern, Retro, Minimal For SaleI am selling this vintage Edith Heath California Pottery USA teapot that is in excellent condition, except for the hairline crack on the lip of the lid as noted in the photo. The teapot has a copper handle wrapped in it's original heat resistant plastic protector. The color is a rich, deep terracotta burnished brown, perhaps the Brownstone pattern. It is clearly marked Heath on the bottom. With Heath pottery, some pieces are marked and others are not. Often Heath is not marked, sometimes it is stamped into the pottery before firing, sometimes it is stamped into the glaze. Collectors know this is variable with Heath Ceramics. Excellent used condition. I rarely used this since the time I bought it new in 1979 and it has been part of my personal collection since, carefully tended. You are buying one teapot.
I also have other Heath pieces for sale from this same set on . Please see my other sales. A photo of some of the pieces I have are shown here, too, only as an example of the other pieces I have for sale and what the set looks like.
Edith Heath (1911–2005) founded Heath Ceramics in 1948 in Sausalito, California, after her solo pottery show at San Francisco’s Legion of Honor. She was a talented ceramicist with a great respect for craft and material, and a strong point of view on the product that her company would make — simple, good things for good people.
