Vintage Caramel Brown Slag Glass Tulip Lamp Shade Art Deco Nouveau Table Desk Nr For Sale
SLAG GLASS TULIP LAMP SHADE
Up for sale is a very nice slag glass tulip shade for a vintage lamp. I've seen these shades used in an upright position on Art Deco table lamps and also in the downright position hanging from desk lamps. I suppose that it could also be used on a floor lamp. The shade is rather small and stands about 5 3/4" tall. The fitter has an outside diameter of about 2 1/4" wide that tapers down to an inside diameter at the bottom of the ring of approximately 1 1/2". The shade consists of 6 caramel brown slag panels held in place by metal bands that are welded together. At it's widest point, the shade measures about 4 3/8" wide. The distance between the ends of the tulip petals is approximately 2 7/8". I purchased this shade at an estate sale last month. I don't see any manufacturer markings, but it's obviously quite old and likely dates from the 1920's.
Condition of this vintage slag glass tulip shade is EXCELLENT. The glass panels are undamaged and tightly held by the metal frame. The metal is a bit dirty and discolored, but I did not want to clean it. Overall, this vintage shade looks fantastic and would be a perfect replacement for your Art Deco table or desk lamp. Please take a close look at the many photos I've provided and judge condition for yourself. I think you'll be very pleased with this purchase. Please measure your lamp fitter ring carefully before purchasing this shade, as there will be no returns for this item.
