Vintage Catholic Priest Chasuble Vestment - Good Friday - Easter:
This is a vintage Catholic priest’s chasuble. Difficult to date precisely, but I would estimate it is from the 1940s or 50s. The piece is made of black rayon moire and lined in purple rayon acetate. The garment is crossed at both the front and back with purple velvet. The back has a printed image of Jesus wearing a crown of thorns - I believe that this chasuble would have been used for Good Friday service. The image of Jesus is quite beautiful, edged with metallic gold rickrack and accented with gold and satin roping.
Condition: It is in very good condition with the exception of yellowish discoloration to the velvet, mostly to the top and bottom and at seam joints. Otherwise, in very good condition.Listing and template services provided by inkFrog
