This is a very cute and unusual vintage, antique acrobat and swing toy featuring a celluloid rabbit, dressed in an early Policeman’s uniform with long double button coat, badge, buckle and billy club. I assume it was made or distributed by Irwin but I have never seen this figure as a mechanical toy.

When wound, he swings back and forth. Now, I know this is supposed to be an acrobat toy, but the bunny isn’t weighted. Apparently, a factory error in the day or possibly he had weighted rattle beads that fell out the opening where the bar is. Or maybe a factory test. I have seen this bunny as a stand alone figure but not as this toy or color scheme. He is original and there is no way to remove him without damage. I taped a couple of pennies under his feet and sure enough, he spun around backwards and forwards and was more animated. There are a few ways to remedy this if desired.

The piece is in beautiful condition. There is no damage anywhere. Bunny is in superb condition with subtle pink and green sprays. Clockwork mechanism works great and the metal bars are very straight. It folds pseudo flat. Bunny is 4 1/4” tall and the swing is 8” tall.
