Vintage Comic Post Card 'assorted Chocolates' Black Amr

Vitage Black Americana Post Card

Comic No. 110 - 5-1/2" x 3-1/2"

"Assorted Chocolates"

This post card is in pretty good shape - slight discoloration (?)from age and very minor rubbing on a couple of corners (worst is on upper left and can be seen in the photos). On the front below the words :Assorted Chocolates" someone wrote in light pencil 'I'm fond of hard centers'.

Bottom left front; 'Edward Gross Co, N. Y.' - Bottom right front;'Painted by C.H. Twelvetrees'. Charles H. Twelvetrees 1888 - 1948. "Early in his life in New England, Charles H. Twelvetrees enjoyed drawing children characters. By the 1900s, in his early twenties, his "children" were being reproduced on postcards, calendars, and blotters. In 1912 he illustrated a series of stories called "The Nibbler Boys," and in the same year, the magazine, Pictorial Review, retained his illustrative services exclusively. During the time from 1912 to 1927, Twelvetrees created over thirty magazine covers and inside illustrations of his famous children.

Back of card. on upper edge, says -COMIC No. 110 and in the box says SMILE MESSENGERS. Condition ispretty good -no bends, folds, creasesor loss of color. Note corner rubs noted above and in photos. There is NO yellowing or discoloration to the back - I believe (but not sure) that the card stock is slightly off-white - lighting for my photos is notvery good.

Note: The item(s) will be packed protectively to avoid damage during mailing.

Please, NO buyers other than lower 48 States.

Thanks & Good Luck!
