Vintage Doctors Bag Emdee By Schell Acquired In The 1940's With Lots Of History For Sale
Here is a vintage doctor’s bag that was acquired from the estate of an orthopedic surgeon. There is quite a history here. After World War II this man went to school on the GI bill and became a doctor. This bags labeling says it is an Emdee by Schell, made with genuine cow hide. It was probably acquired by the doctor in the 1940's
Not quite sure of its value but I am sure of its history because it was donated to me by the doctor's daughter.
She had hoped that a nonprofit called Rescue-medical supplies for people in need could forward it to doctors working in developing counties. Doctors in Gabon, Mali, Guinea and Swaziland in Africa plus doctors in Honduras and Papua New Guinea were approached. They thought this was a nice to have item but not valuable enough to ship overseas since it won’t save someone’s life. So offering it here instead and money raised will pay to have life saving items purchased and shipped.
