Vintage Doll 1940s Asian Collectible Chinese Culture Treasure Amazing Provenance:
My great-grandmother wrote a fascinating story on her note cards about the whole experience, and it is an amazing adventure of what this precious little doll went through to get to the USA. His name is "Dee Dee", which means "little brother". He stands a little over 12" tall, is handsomely dressed in silk embroidered shoes & clothing, which has an unusual, 4-thread knotted closure pattern on his jacket.
His black thread hair has a disconnection in one place on the back right side of his head, which has his hair set in two braids threaded with red string.
His beautiful face is painted skillfully, and has had a blush added for creative perfection. Some of the family history is written on his chest, and I am not sure why it was written here.
The composition of his stuffing is unknown, but it is packed tightly, is sewn neatly, and is well-done.
There is a tiny area of blue that has transferred from his colored jacket flowers to his creme colored silk pants top underneath the jacket. There is a tiny pin hole in the back of his pants bottom. Thisone-of-a-kind, one family owned collector's find that has his own place in History, is a beautiful & unique artisan creation that could be a worthy possession in your hands for a lifetime.
He has not been appraised. Dee-Dee comes from a clean home that is smoke-free.
We desire for our treasured generational heirloom to be loved, cherished, and be well taken care of for a lifetime, passed down through new generations for many years to come, as he needs & deserves. Have a Safe, Happy, Prosperous & Blessed 2020. Enjoy !!!
