Vintage Early NOMA Twinkling Star Christmas Tree Topper Jewels Transformer Box:

This is an early lighted tree topper from Noma. It has a white star shaped body with plasticgems and old style glitter. The lights areminiature lights and they are wired to what is probably a transformer. Unlike the later 50s versions, this is asingle piece with the light bulbs on the back side. The lights are supposed to shimmer: they dowork, but the effect is subtle. Thetransformer is probably two pieces with the little button tabs to hold themtogether. Over the years these wear offand this piece has been wrapped in masking tape for a long time. There is a bit of color bleed over on one gemand one other one looks like it has a small manufacturing flaw: these are shownin close up. The topper is about 8 ½” indiameter. Comes in original box, whichhas some shelf wear. Interesting pieceof lighting esoterica!
