Vintage Effanbee Dydee Baby w Clothes Trunk Accessories Applied Ears 15" c1949
DescriptionOriginal Effanbee Dy-Dee baby She is 15” with applied ears.
She has been in this trunk for a very long while and it is time for her to go to her forever home.
Featured in the book “Effanbee A Collector’s Encyclopedia” by John Axe. Page 5.
You will receive everything you see here.
The doll is in very nice condition, her body is wonderful. Soft and very plyable rubber with no cracking or flaking. Stringing is a little loose. Applied ears are almost perfect.
She has the stay asleep green glassine eyes. When you turn her head to the right and lay her down she will stay asleep.
Full bristle lashes.
Soft lambskin wig still has some curl but has some areas of thinning. Although her body is in wonderful condition her face has an area on her cheek that looks as though someone tried to repaint her. So she needs some restoration to be brought back to her original glory.
She was dubbed as “The Almost Human Doll.” Her chief attraction was her ability to wet.
The first doll of its kind. So important that she was used for prenatal education classes, nursing classes by the Red Cross and child care organizations the world over. Pretty important stuff for a doll!!
Please look over the pictures and enlarge them for detail. The clothes are in nice condition. They are the correct vintage and have been with her since the beginning. No major flaws just some mending here and there on the party dress. The sweater set is very nice. Not shown is a pair of long pj’s that were mommy made.
Old doll bottles, shoes, original wash cloths that were sold with her to wash her hair, face and ears!
