Mainly for rug making, this sale is for a fine quality vintage punch embroidery needle which comes with its original box. It was made in the 1940's to 50's by a company named Columbia. It is made of sturdy metal with what appears to be a black bakelite handle. The main steel shaft is engraved with the words COLUMBIA Embroidery Needle, Pat appl. for. Serial No. 392 It has a permanent guarantee however it is believed that the company no longer exists. The tip of this needle has a forked tongue with a V-groove. Comes with its own box and a detailed instruction sheet with photos which explains how to use it. Also on the instruction sheet it reads: Wm. H. Horstmann Company, Philadelphia, New York, Chicago, Los Angeles. Nice working condition. A wonderful needle to collect or to use.
