Vintage German Cuckoo Wall Clock - Genuine Black Forest Cuckoo Clock:
Listing VintageBlack ForestCuckoo Clock Original - Made in the Black Forest of Germany
This is a great example of a German, Black Forest Cuckoo Clock in excellent condition. This clock runs very well and has a bird, which pops out of his door every half-hour; he cuckoos once on the half-hour and counts the hours on the hour. Prior to his familiar “cuckoo” song, the clock chimes on a gong. When the cuckoo sings, the bird bobs up and down, then goes back in and slams the door! Also you can see the carvedmaple leaf pendulum swing with each passing second.
The weights areheavy and shaped like pinecones– making this cuckoo clock run a full day before you need to pull them back up! The case, dial, movement are in great condition and the clock keeps excellent time. The handmade case is made of solid wood in great condition with the original finish. There are lots of large carvings, complete with leaves, twigs and birds on the front. These carvings make up the “Bird” style cuckoo clock.
The dial is in excellent condition with original numbers. The gong is original, as is the entire clock. It includesa pendulum and the twoweights to the clock. You can adjust the time to slow and fast from the pendulum.
The movement is inexcellent condition and has just been cleaned, oiled and checked for proper operation. The clock looks to be all-original. I don’t know the exact age of this clock, but it was made before plastic was put into the movement and bellows in the early 1960’s.
The clock measures about 12 inches high not counting the weights or pendulum,9inches wide and6 deep.
This clock is being saleed with and the shipping charges are calculated with no extra handling charges added in.
offer with confidence.14 day money back guarantee if you are not satisfied with your purchase. We try to describe our clocks as accurately as we can, and include lots of pictures, (usually 12) using just about every angle. We go over our clocks thoroughly, and if they're dirty or need overhauling, we clean and overhaul them. If you expect an antique clock to look brand new, they usually don't. Antiques, if they've had normal use, will have age-appropriate wear, which adds character rather than detracting. If there are glaring faults, we do note them in the description.
We test them out here before shipping and guarantee they will work for you, but due to shipment trauma, (why do some UPS and USPS people feel they have to treat packages so roughly?) there may be some adjustments necessary, which we are glad to help you with. We provide help via email or over the phone. In extreme cases we ask folks to send the clock back to us to adjust for them and we return them ASAP at our expense.
