The pattern is Grandmother's Flower Garden and is in great condition.
Made of all cottons top and back and feels like the batting is cotton as well.
The quality is very good and was made by a very good expert quilt maker.
We are very fortunate here in Kentucky to have many fine quilt makers.
Each piece has been hand pieced with tiny, delicate and hidden stitches.
The quilting is also very good with 8-9 stitches per inch.
Each piece of the pattern and flower measures 1 1/4" to 1 1/2".
The batting is nice and thin and has no puckers.
Each piece has quilting to keep the quilt in place nicely so the design on the top appears exactly on the back.
The border has also been hand sewn with a blanket stitch tightly and closely sewn.
The design has been well thought out and each flower looks great with each having a yellow center.
The borders that separate the flowers also have been done in a smaller flower with green centers.
This quilt measures 84" x 84".
You may note that the sides of this quilt have deep scallops and the top and bottom would have the smaller scallops.
Very clean and good. We didn't need to launder.
Free of any odors, just the smell of cotton.
I believe this quilt to have been made in the late 1930 to mid 1940's.
A very nice old quilt sure to be a great addition to any quilt collection.
