Vintage HATTIE CARNEGIE Primitives on Parade Dodo Bird Lucite Rhinestones Brooch

Iconic vintage designer signed HATTIE CARNEGIE \'Dodo Bird\' brooch designed in gold plated metal. The bird has purple and green lucite or thermoplastic which I believe is the rarest color this piece was produced in. His body is carved purple lucite and his head is emerald green lucite with a rhinestone eye. Four purple cabochons are set across the top of his head and two emerald green cabochons are set on his tail. Sparkling clear rhinestones accent his beak and body. If you look closely you can see the teeth etched into his beak. So much detail in this exquisite brooch! He measures 2 1/4\" tall and is 2\" wide and has a secure safety clasp.

This gorgeous bird is a book piece and can be found in Georgiana McCall\'s Hattie Carnegie Jewelry, p.139. This very collectible bird is in excellent condition with no flaws to note. A delightful addition to your vintage figural collection! Enjoy!
