Vintage Halloween Mars Three Musketeers Trick Or Treat Candy Box & Mask, 50s-60s For Sale
Welcome Fellow Vintage and Antique
Hallowe'en and Paper Ephemera Enthusiasts!
Many of you know us as longtime collectors and sellers of vintage and
antique Hallowe'en, Christmas, Valentine’s Day and Easter memorabilia, antique
dolls, old toys, and lovely old china and glassware. For your all-year-long
Hallowe’en loving pleasure, we are HAUNTINGly happy to present a SPOOKtacular vintage
Hallowe'en Mars Three Musketeers empty cardboard candy box that was made in the
1950s or 1960s! This box is complete including its never-cut-out Jack o’
Lantern mask that appears on the back! The front of the box features a Hallowe'en
train with a witch as its conductor, carrying two cars of Three Musketeers
candy bars, and a smiling ghost and perched owl riding along in the caboose. A
smiling crescent moon appears overhead along with many glittering stars in the
midnight sky.The box reads Mars, The King Size Bar
for Tricks or Treats, Three Musketeers, A Train Full of Good Eatin’. It then
gives the ingredients for the candy bars and reads Manufactured by Mars
Incorporated, Chicago, Illinois, 24 Bars each 1 3/8 ounce net weight, copyright
Mars Inc.The four sides of the lid say 24 Mars
Three Musketeers Candy Bars, and feature a smiling masked Jack o' Lantern. The bottom of the box’s four sides shows
the iconic Three Musketeers in their garb with swords. The bottom of the box
has, in Ziz’s opinion, a FRIGHTfully fabulous marketing tool: a mask that could
be cut out and worn on All Hallows' Eve. The mask features a smiling orange Jack
o' Lantern wearing a black hat and jaunty bow tie. The bottom of the box reads
Kids! Here’s your “Happy Hallowe'en” cut out mask! “Tricks or Treats” – and then
it gives instructions on how to cut out the mask for wearing. We particularly love the cheerful colors
used for this candy container and the iconic 1950s / 60s graphics. This piece
measures 11” wide x 6 ¾” deep x 2” high.The exact condition is as follows: there
is some wear to the edges, commensurate with this box’s age, some
discoloration, some creases and some old tape that was used to keep the box
closed. This item is complete and displays beautifully. This charming collectible brings to mind
Ziz’s oh-so-happy Hallowe'en childhood memories when she gleefully ran from
house to house, hoping for a full-size candy bar while trick or treating onHallowe'en.
We think this box, with its iconic mid-century graphics and complete condition,
would make a superb acquisition for any Hallowe'en collection, ephemera
collection, or a collection of advertising memorabilia! Please remember
Ziz’s motto: Eat, Drink and Be Scary! No

Oh,
there’ll be spooky doings
When
cometh Hallowe'en,
With
black cats loudly meowing,
And
witches to be seen;
For
‘tis the night when bats careen,
And
hoots the hooting owl,
While
in the heavy shadows
The
gray ghost slyly prowl.
Happy
Hallowe'en 2013! :)
