Vintage Handmade & Stitched Flower Garden Feedsack Quilt, Very Good Condition For Sale
Very old, hand made grandmother's cotton quilt in the classic flower garden pattern, in very good condition, with the flaw explained above (that affects the bottom of the quilt only, not the top). It is a wonderful work of art by the folk artists, quilters who made this years ago. We think it is from after 1930, and that's why we didn't list it in Antiques, but we can tell this is a really old quilt, from the type of fabric used, the type of very well packed, uniform stitching, and other details we have seen in old quilts (we are no quilters, or experts, or collectors, but we have seen so many nice quilts lately that we can start giving our opinion about them, and hopefully being right). The quilt as a bedspread, on the bed where the pics were taken, is simply strikingly beautiful. Please check the pics. The measurements are, approximately: 80" by 72". The bed used for the pics is a queen size, and it measures, give or take, 80" by 60', so by looking at our photos you may have a good idea of size. We also made a pic of one of the "flowers" compared to a 12" ruler. It is a rather heavy quilt, for its size. It has batting, and it is moderately thick.
