Fine handmade 940 sterling silver necklace and bracelet designed and signed (c.1940\'s) by Taxco, Mexico artist Hector Aguilar (1905-86).
Often referred to as the \"6 Spheres\" this finely detailed bracelet has a wearable length of 7 5/8 inches and is 1 5/8 inches wide weighing 95 grms.
The necklace is also referred to as the \"6 Spheres\" and is as well finely detailed with a wearable length of 18 inches and is 1 5/8 inches wide weighing 231 grms.
Bracelet and necklace are both Hallmarked HA TAXCO 940 at the clasps.
Aguilar designs are part of permanent museum collections around the world. He was well represented in the recent museum exhibit WILLIAM SPRATLING AND THE MEXICAN SILVER RENAISSANCE. This design is pictured in MEXICAN SILVER By Morrill and Berk on p. 100. Also pictured on p. 130 of SILVER MASTERS OF MEXICO by Penny Morrill.
One of Hector Aguilar\'s most noteworthy designs. The bold and tribal design wears comfortably against the neckline and graces the wrist.
The bracelet can be affxed to the necklace to create a larger necklace that can adorn the chest to make a larger fit and look.
Condition: Beautiful and excellent condition with no dents or dings. Has a very fine silver luster. Both bracelet and necklace have slide in clasps. The slide in clasps close smoothly and securely.
