You are looking at avintage 24\" pruning saw made in the USA by Henry Disston and Sons. This saw has the etch worn off, but it is marked on the medallion \"Disston -H.P.K. - USA\". With some detective work I fond it to be a no. 32 pruning saw. This blade is 24\" long with an open tooth design for green lumber. The Blade features a skew back and a 1 1/2\" tip, with a ridged steel fabrication. Blade sights very straight and khas less than normal flex. The handle on the piece is constructed of plywood. The separate plies can be seen from the edges. The handle is strong and tight, but does show some weathering of thefirst plywhich has been finished over by the previous owner There is a small chip on the reverse side at the tongue, but nothing serious. Blade is held tight with four steel lugs, one of which has the medallion.Fairly rare for the collector or nice for the user.
