Vintage Henry Disston Pre-civil War 1840's 16in. Miter Back Saw (earliest Style) For Sale
Up for offer is a Nice Vintage Henry Disston Pre-Civil War 1840's 16inch Miter Back Saw with Split Nuts. From what I found on the internet this is a one of the earliest stampings and features 2 eagles flanking the Henry Disston name on the back bar on top of the saw (see photo) eagles were dropped later in the 1840's. I could not get a close photo of the Medallion with my camera but I did match it up on the internet and does match that of a 1840's 1850's Medallion. The wood handle is in good Original Condition with no cracks. The saw has the normal ware for a saw of this age with some pitting and some rust. The blade is dent free and straight. The saw is about 21inches long. Would make a nice addition to any collection. Feel free to ask any questions that you might have. The saw is returnable if you are not happy with it.
