I\'m definitely getting into something here that I don\'t know much about, but I know this is a pretty purse. And it\'s in really nice condition!
NOTE: Thanks to a well informed and kind viewer, I have learned that this is a Niagara style purse made by members of the Iroquois confederacy for the tourist trade and due to the style of beads is likely from the 1930\'s-40\'s.
It was in a shadow box frame when found. It measures 7\" wide by 6 1/2\". It looks like there are at least 10 different color beads in the floral design. The flaps seem to be for decorative purposes, they don\'t conceal another compartment. The strap is a black satin ribbon. As far as I can tell, there are no missing beads. The metal piece is not included, just something to hold it open for the pictures. I have another beaded purse from the same estate up for sale so please check it out. I can combine shipping for multiple purchases.
