This old pair of dental pliers or tooth extractors are from the civil war era from what I was able to find out about them . The wear on them from use would certainly suggest that age as well. The knurling on the gripsis worn and the edges of the jaws show lotsof use! They are stamped No. 7 on one grip. I can just imagine how many teeth you have to remove to wear a pair of well built pliers like this... Ouch!
