Vintage Jaime Oates Watercolor "three Men On Mule" Framed Mid Century Mint:
I have a beautiful Jaime Oates watercolor painting "Three Men On Mule" Circa mid century up for sale. The painting is in a new updated frame and matting. The piece is in excellent condition but does have a slight yellowing tint on the right side where the original matting covered some of piece (see picture). Though not an expert it seems to me his older watercolors are more sharp and defined as compared to his later watercolors. Framed approx 13 X 17 image size approx 7.5 X 11.5. Looks absolutely stunning nothing needs to be done to it. Would look great in a Library or Den. AN AWESOME DEAL FOR THE PRICEother watercolors 3/6 times more than what I'm asking unframed. ABSOLUTELY STUNNING PIECE. Will be sent well packaged with tracking number signature required. Please message me before offerding if you have any questions. Below is a short bio on Mr Oates. JAIME OATES (1912 –2005)
Born in Tossa de Mar on the Costa Brava in Spain, of English and Spanish parentage, Jaime grew up in Spain and later trained as an artist in Britain. After finishing his studies he returned to Spain only to find the restrictive Environment under Franco’s dictatorship to be unacceptable. He and his new Spanish wife, Roser, moved to Mexico. After living for a short while in the capital, they moved on to live in Taxco in 1955 where Jaime began teaching at the art school founded by Leslie and Fidel Figueroa until its closing. He has had exhibitions in Taxco, in Mexico City, and in Spain no one will dispute he portrayed the magic of Mexico.
