In 1899 the \"Heidelberger Federhalterfabrik\" (a dip pen factory) was taken over by Heinrich Koch and Rudolph Weber. A contraction of \"Koch, Weber & Co\" gave rise to the trademark \"KaWeCo\", which later became the official title of the firm. In the early years Kaweco produced wooden dip pens and imported gold nibs from A. Morton of New York. In 1914 the firm received the \"Goldenen Preis\" on the International Show in Leipzig. The Kaweco Dia and Kaweco Colleg series with a piston-filling mechanism were introduced in 1934 followed by the presentation of the famous \"Kaweco Sport\" in 1935. Specifications:
