Vintage Kay Electric Guitar Gibson Pickup Jazz Box Cutaway 1950s Blond Maple For Sale
What we have here is a very attractive 1950s Kay archtop that needs a second chance. It is a very striking, full-depth (3 1/2") hollow body with a lower bout of 17". It features a nice, straight-grain spruce top and highly figured maple back and sides. At some point it was fitted with a Gibson mini-humbucker (patent number)/ The action is rather high and the bridge is all the way down. The neck does not appear warped, though, so a neck-reset will probably make this a playable guitar. Also, the finish may have been oversprayed. All in all, though, this guitar is going to make a great rockabilly/jazz box for someone who will take some time to bring it back around. No case is included with this sale.
