Vintage Kelly Brothers X Marked Steel Chihuahua Cowboy Spurs:
This is a vintage pair of X marked Kelly Brothers spurs probably from the 1920's or 1930's. Kelly Brothers is listed in Bit and Spur Makers in the Texas Tradition by Ned and Jody Martin. They are markedX by the hangers on the outside of both heel bands. The X mark was used to indicate seconds. The spurs are steel with a natural patina. These spurs have seen a lot of use. They have over sized rowel holes, pitting in steel and wear on the swingers and the inside of the shanksare worn thin from use. It looks like the pins were replaced a long time ago. One button is diamond shaped and the others are round. Please see pictures for condition. This would be a nice old pair to add to a collection.
