Vintage Knotts Berry Farm California Sad Eye Joe Keychain Ghost Town~rare:
This vintage Sad Eye Joe keychain has been in my possession since my parents took me to Knotts Berry Farm back when I was a little girl in the late 1950s, early 1960s (not sure exactly when!).
The story has it that Sad Eye Joe was Orange County's longest jailed inmate, and Joe has been stuck in a small jail at Knott's Berry Farm since 1940. The wooden character was originally carved by Andy Anderson for Walter Knott as an attraction in the Ghost Town next to the Chicken Restaurant.
The Sad Eye Joe key fob is in excellent original condition. The front of the keychain is marked "Sad Eye Joe", and the back is marked "Knotts Berry Farm California", "Meet Me In Ghost Town".The clasp on the chain is stamped "Bead Chain". Please see photos for reference.
