Purina Kutmaster Stockman Checkerboard - 1970\'s era - Red & White Purina Checkerboard handles - New - Actual photos with absolutely no editing or retouching, just as they came from the camera.

Selling the majorityof my collection – Hundreds of knives, from multiple manufacturers, will belisted and sold over the coming weeks and months – Virtually all these kniveshave been rolled in collector’s cases since the 60’s and 70’s – Many were new, takenstraight from the box, rubbed in oil, and placed in the cases – Others werepurchased at estate sales, yard sales, swap meets, individuals, and from othercollectors – More than a few are significantly older than I – I’ve been sneeredat for cleaning the knives before listing them, and I’ve been sneered at fornot cleaning them, so here’s what I’m going to do; if I see dried oil lookinggummy on them, I’ll wipe them down with kerosene and reoil; if I see some lightcorrosion or rust, I’ll use an old sock and some Mother’s Mag and AluminumPolish (it’s non-abrasive) to clear it away so I can give better descriptionsand provide better pictures; if I see a crack in a side panel, I will mark itwith powdered graphite so it will show in the pictures, but should clean outeasily – The images provided have had no manipulation, no editing or retouching– If the item is listed as “New”, that means it was new at the time it wasadded to the collection; it may have since gained patina or blemishes, or otherissues brought on by time; If I spot any pitting or blemishes that I don’tbelieve will be easily polished out, it will be noted in the listing – Somehave asked me why my shipping is so high; I ship via USPS Priority Mail. Icharge $7 for shipping. After paying their share, the USPS, and the othersupplies, that’s pretty much breakeven – If you’re the winning buyer, and wantit insured for a greater amount than the $50 that comes with Priority Mail, letme know and I’ll correct your invoiced amount accordingly – Unless you receivethe wrong knife, and please let me know if this happens, you agree thatdelivering your winning offer item to USPS for delivery is the extent of myobligation to you, though I will assist in filing any insurance claims that maybe necessary – If you choose not to add insurance, and it doesn’t get to you,or gets there damaged, it’s on you – These are being sold As Is, with no refundor return.

A Little History

I started collectingknives about the same time I started kindergarten. If I saw one I liked, and I had the money tobuy it, I did. I worked any odd job Icould find to make a buck to buy knives – that included my own little blackmarket candy and cigarette business in school in later years (definitelydifferent times, back then). It is,therefore, an oddball collection of all sorts of odds and ends, and spans frommy 1960’s early youth, to my “have a car, girlfriend and apartment and can’tafford to keep buying knives” late teens (nothing newer than 1982’ish). I don’t know the brands, components and otherthings the way most collectors do, because it wasn’t that kind of collection tome. It was just things I liked. If I can answer a question, I will. But, a lot of these listings have alreadyrequired me doing some quality Google and Bing time just to find enough info tolist them, so don’t expect too much detail. If I know the story of a knife, I’ll put it in the listing. If it still looks new to me, I’ll probablyput “mint” in the description, or just say “new”. If it says “near mint”, that means there’ssome little something that I’ve noticed, but I don’t think it’s something ofreal concern. I’m not a grading expert;I’m just doing the best I know how to do.The side panel material is going to be my best guess, or what Googleresources say they are, so look at the pictures carefully and make your owndetermination. If you’re in doubt, askme to verify something, and give me a non-destructive method for doing it. I don’t want anyone thinking I intentionallymislead them, or misrepresented something; just understand, I’m not an expert, and offer accordingly.

If you chose to offeron any of my listings, you understand the above, and accept the risks involved;you agree that unless I send you a completely different knife, it’s yours, withno complaints. If I do goof and mix uptwo shipments, I’ll do everything I can to correct the error (it happened once, and I still feel terrible about it, so I’m being extra careful not to let ithappen again)

To the few collectorswho have taken time out of their lives to offer me help and suggestions, Ithank you all. With your help, I’mlearning what I need to better describe these knives, protecting allinvolved. It is appreciated.

Thanks for reading, and understanding – Now, GOPLAY!
