For sale is an uncommon vintage cardboard SKULL HEAD and BONES Halloween LANTERN c. 1940s. This was made by the Beistle Company of Shippensburg, PA. The lantern shows the identical skull and bones image on all four sides - white with black detailing against a black background. The outside border of the central image, as well as the eyes, noses, and mouth are all cut out - revealing the orange paper liner that is affixed to the inside of the lantern.

The lantern is constructed using tabs at the lower edges and bottom. The original thin wire hanger is still attached. The interior orange paper is in fine condition with no tears. The lantern is in generally good condition with some minor scuffs on the surface. The top pointed peaks do have bends and scuffing and the color on some of the black tips has been restored.

The lantern measures 10 inches high by 5 inches squared. Here\'s an opportunity to acquire an unusual vintage piece . . . ready to add a scary atmosphere to any Halloween celebration!
