Vintage Lg. Sandizell Dresden Lace Porcelain Figurine - Couple Playing The Piano For Sale
Dresden Lace Couple on Piano
Offered at sale is a rather large porcelain figurine featuring an elegantly dressed Victorian couple enjoying each others company while the lady plays the piano.
The maker's mark... a crown with 'N' and Dresden indicates that this is from the Sandizell Porcelain Factory in Bavaria, West Germany.
This figurine is in exceptional, nearly mint condition. I found no cracks or chips to the incredibly delicate porcelain lace. None of the hand applied roses are chipped or compromised. I believe that the gentleman's index finger... resting on the back of the chair may have the very end chipped off. But it is very hard to see and it isn't a big enough chip to compromise the appearance of his hand.
The gold scrolls that embellish all aspects of this figurine are completely intact. I found no wear or thinning. And aside from an accumulation of dust, I see nothing wrong with it.
This figurine is of a larger size. It measures 7 inches wide, by 9 1/2 inches tall, and is 5 inches deep.
This would be an amazing gift to anyone that collects Victorian figurines.
When it is safely possible, I try to combine shipments to save on postage and packaging requirements. There are some instances where that may not be possible, so if you havewon more than one sale, please wait until you receive an invoice from me.
I have had requests to ship in a padded envelope instead of a box...while this may save some in shipping costs, it is a risky endeavor with delicate sterling items, so please don't ask. I usually ship Priority Mail flat-rate (mainly because they supply the boxes which can get obscenely expensive)
As always, shipping amounts are estimates only and I always refund any overages that may occur. If you cannot understandthe reasoning for my shipping method, and will later complain that my shipping costs are too high, please buy from someone else... there's plenty of sellers that just don't care.I take great pride in the condition of the sterling items that I am trying to protect, and I am determined to get them to you, the buyer, in the same exceptional condition.
I try to fully and faithfully disclose any irregularities I find but I am far from perfect and some things may escape my detection. When damage (no matter how minute) I try to make sure that it is clearly depicted in the photos. Also, while I thoroughly wash and hand-polish every piece of sterling that I sell, I do not have the time or the inclination to get out a toothbrush and clean every little nook and cranny of the more intricate designs unless build-up or tarnish is excessive.
I believe that I have described the above sale offering accurately and in detail. Please consult the photographs or Email me with any questions.
My word is my bond. If you are unhappy with your purchase, please contact me within 3 business days to arrange return and a refund of your purchase price. Shipping charges are not refundable.
The sterling that I am currently listing are not my property and as such, I am unable to make a 'deal' or entertain a 'Best Offer' scenario. They belong to a friend who is in the precious metals business. He has a warehouse that is stockpiled with sterling items that he has purchased over the last 28 years of business, including more than 100 different silver flatware sets. With the soaring price of silver, he had decided to send them all to the smelter to be melted down.
Instead, I convinced him to let me try to offer them on so that they would not be destroyed. I know that there are silver lovers out there that wish to harken back to the days of genteel dining and gracious living. Besides, I have come to genuinely appreciate anything that is older than me and still survives.
Due to recent complications withInternational buyers and shipping policies, I will only ship via Express Mail International with full insurance. I WILL NOT alter the final offer price on the required customs forms.
